Ans. Climbing the Mount Everest is adventurous as well as risky. It is a really tough challenge and accepting a challenge and doing it, is also pleasurable. It gives immense joy to the doers.

Qus (iii). What was it about Mount Everest that the author found irresistible?

Ans. The author found it irresistible because Mount Everest is the highest, the mightiest, and the most difficult mountain to scale. Climbing Mount Everest is like fighting a battle and winning it.

Ques (iv). One does not do it (climb a high peak) for fame alone. What does one do it for, really?

Ans. Climbing Mount Everest or any higher peak is not possible for everyone. To climb it needs endurance, persistence, and willpower. It holds the capacity to change a person inside out. Because it changes a person emotionally and spiritually. The man who once climbs a mountain is never the same as before.
