(ii) In what sense is it a “bad master”?

Ans. Fire is a bad master if it gets out of control. It becomes very dangerous. Every year it damages thousands of homes and shops. It destroys vast areas of forest every year.

Ans. When we blow air on a burning candle, the hot air around the flame is removed. In this way, we reduce its temperature below the flash point. Thus, the candle goes out.

Qus.7 Spraying water is not a good way of putting out an oil fire or an electrical fire. Why not?

Ans. If water is sprayed on to an oil fire, then the oil will float to the top of the water and continue to burn. Moreover  the fire will spread all around with the flow of water. In the same way if we spread water on to an electric fire , it may give a powerful electric shock . The person can be killed.
